Depart from the award-winning Coral Sea Marina at 9am and travel to Tongue Bay for a once-in-a-lifetime experience on Whitehaven Beach and a guided bush walk to Hill Inlet Lookout. Travel to the North end of the Whitsundays Islands and explore the fringing Great Barrier Reef with two snorkels. Arriving back at Coral Sea Marina at approximately 5pm.

Snorkelling is a physical activity. A certain level of fitness and ability is required to participate.

The restrictions on the below document reflect the requirements of the Snorkelling Code of Practice 2024, which is approved under the Safety in Recreational Water Activities Act 2011.

We do not sell alcohol on the boat, but all guests are welcome to BYO and place cans in the esky. No red wine or glass is allowed on the vessel.

Yes. Thundercat visits Whitehaven Beach, Hill Inlet Lookout and two snorkelling locations in a single day.

What marine life might I see?

Sea turtles, tropical fish, rays, giant clams, colourful coral reefs and seasonal humpback whales.

Yes. All guests complete a risk assessment, receive a safety briefing and are supported by our experienced crew throughout the day.

Do I need snorkelling experience?

No. Thundercat is suitable for both first-time and experienced snorkellers.

Do I have to snorkel?

No. Snorkelling is optional.

Do you cater for dietary requirements?

While our menu caters to most guests, we are unable to accommodate specific dietary requirements. Guests are welcome to bring their own food and snacks onboard for the day.

What should I bring?

Swimmers, towel, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, camera, reusable water bottle and BYO alcohol if desired.

Are bus transfers included?

Yes. Complimentary transfers are available from selected local accommodation providers.

Are prescription masks available?

Do stinger suits cover your hands and feet?

No. Stinger suits cover approximately 90% of the body but do not cover the hands, feet or face.

Is there a toilet on board?

Yes.

What if I can’t swim or have limited English?

Thundercat is a moderate adventure tour. Guests should be comfortable in and around the water, able to climb a ladder, and able to follow crew instructions. We recommend a basic understanding of English or travelling with someone who can assist with translating safety information.

Can I bring alcohol on board?

Yes. We provide eskies and ice for your convenience.

Is Thundercat suitable if I get seasick?

Thundercat’s catamaran design provides a smoother ride than many traditional vessels.

How long do we spend at Whitehaven Beach?

Approximately two hours.

Where do you snorkel?

At two locations within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, selected based on the conditions each day.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Tours operate in most weather conditions. If conditions are unsafe, our team will contact guests directly.
