THERE’S THUNDER IN THEM THERE’ ISLANDS
As a tourist whenever you go out on the water be it a day excursion, a fishing trip, or a cruise there are three things that are paramount.
- Safety – a well maintained boat and rated safety equipment.
- Quality equipment – the vessel, life jackets, water activity equipment, snorkelling gear, wetsuits, fishing tackle etc.
- Professionally trained & knowledgeable staff – a must for peace of mind and an enjoyable trip
Well, Whitsunday’s Red Cat Adventures tick all three boxes with distinction.
Their Thundercat day tour around the islands visiting the famous Whitehaven beach is a must do if visiting Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays. The custom built Thundercat is one of the fastest and most stable catamarans in the region making it perfect for those who have concerns about potential seasickness. You’ll enjoy the smoothest ride possible making it an adventure to remember for all age groups.
Tip: If you have any reservations about seasickness, I recommend you take an approved motion medication an hour or two in advance of getting on the boat. Taking medication as you board, is too late to be effective.
What I liked about this tour was it starts from your accommodation with complimentary transfers to the marina. Where your adventure begins with introduction to the Thundercat and safety briefing by the fun-loving crew.
Whatever the weather, I really don’t think it would make any difference to your enjoyment, sunshine and calm seas are not pre-requisites for an exciting day to remember. The itinerary ticked all the boxes with a good mix of activities throughout the day. The snorkelling was excellent as was the equipment and wetsuit/stinger suits they supplied.
The crew are all highly trained and it showed through. They obviously love their job and the company they work for which is always a bonus for customers.
I won’t give away what you do all day as that will ruin your day out. But trust me – its brilliant and well worth the ticket price which was excellent value for money. Ask about the family package, even better value.
Airlie Beach is a great place to base yourself
And it’s not just a jumping off point for the Whitsunday islands and water activities. The hinterland is just as appealing and what better way than a visit to Cedar Creek Falls.
Red Cat Adventures run a Falls to Paradise day tour where you can experience the tranquil beauty of Cedar Creek Falls, which is concealed among rocks, bushes, Alexandra Palms, and white cedar trees. Enjoy the cool spray of the waterfall that cascades over a rocky wall, take a dip in the clear, sparkling waterhole, and revel in the clean air, colourful butterflies, huge variety of birds, and exquisite wild orchids. Although this spot is beautiful all year round, it is especially vibrant after a downpour. Did I mention you can swim with turtles, now that’s unique to this region.
Put Airlie Beach, Whitsundays on your next holiday itinerary, and whilst there don’t forget to book a tour with Red Cat Adventures – you won’t regret it.
