Airlie Beach is located on the North Queensland coast roughly halfway between Brisbane and Cairns. There are four main ways to get to Airlie Beach and the decision really depends on how much time you have and how you like to travel. The Aeroplane Flying into Airlie Beach from literally anywhere is going to be your fastest method of getting here.  Direct flights are available from a handful of locations around Australia with those missing out on direct routes having to transfer in Brisbane. If you are coming from Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Hobart, Perth, Darwin or Cairns, then flying will most likely be your best option. Are There Crocodiles In Airlie Beach

However, it has happened. Most commonly, crocodiles that are spotted around the Airlie Beach area are in marinas such as Coral Sea Marina.  While it is extremely rare, it can always be a possibility. Crocodiles don’t live in the Airlie Beach area but in passing through they may stop in to the marina and hang out for a few days.  The reason for this is because crocodiles like ‘dirty’ water to hunt in and marina water is the closest thing to ‘dirty’ water that we have around here. South of Airlie Beach, we have the inlet to the Proserpine River, which does have crocodiles.  Luckily for us, they very rarely venture beyond the mouth of the river.   Are there crocodiles in The Whitsundays? When Is The Best Time To Visit Airlie Beach And The Whitsundays

When is the best time of year to visit Airlie Beach and The Whitsundays?   Spring is the best time to visit, more specifically, the months of September to November because the weather is perfect and town is pumping.   Why?   Weather  Weatherwise this is our best time of year because it’s hot, but not too humid for our friends that are not used to tropical heat.  The humidity only starts to ramp up around the end of spring which makes for nice cool nights for the majority of the season.
