Christmas time in Airlie Beach and The Whitsundays is always a mixed bag of weather and by that I mean, sunshine, rain, wind, heat and not necessarily in that order. TEMPERATURE In December, Airlie Beach and The Whitsundays will start to get proper summer temperatures in excess of 33 degrees Celsius by day and 25 degrees at night. Humidity will start to rise significantly as well as the monsoonal rains start to fall over the far north. November is when we start to come into the wet season in Airlie Beach and The Whitsundays.  This means we see temperatures heading towards ‘hot’ and some rain starts to fall. TEMPERATURE In November, Airlie Beach and The Whitsundays starts to heat up to those tropical temperatures that you would expect from north Queensland.  Temperatures generally hover around 30 degrees in the day and fall to 23 degrees at night. April is when our weather here really gets ‘turned on’.  The rain from the wet season is more or less gone and the temperature starts to drop.  The biggest benefit is the humidity dropping which means less sweat.
