Does Anyone Live On Whitsunday Island?

While Whitsunday Island itself is not inhabited, there are a few islands nearby that do have quite a few people living there.  National parks have openly stated loud and clear that there will never be any development of accommodation on Whitsundays Island.

Whitsunday Island is home to Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet, which is a very significant aboriginal area. On top of this, any development on the island could affect the natural flow of wind and water which could have an impact on the beauty of Whitehaven Beach.

Hamilton Island

Hamilton Island is a large resort island that at any given time can have up to 2000 staff living on the island.

Hayman Island

Hayman is another rather large resort that is home to up to 700 staff.

Daydream Island

Daydream is a much smaller resort that is home to only 100 staff.

Long Island

Long Island is a much smaller island resort that is only home to 30 staff.
